Gallery Exhibition: Matariki Ngā Tae O Te Pō

Matariki a cluster of stars also known as Pleiades in the Greek Culture.

It is also recognised by other indigenous cultures internationally. Matariki to the Maori people signals the completion of one year and the beginning of the new year. It is time where we acknowledge people who have passed as a final farewell at the completion of the year. As the New Year approaches traditionally, crops would be planted, and the harvesting of food festivities would commence.

This gallery launched on July 7 and is available for viewing until August 14.
